This collection comprises a single folder containing reports, meeting documents, and correspondence involving the AIMBN. It also contains a photograph from the first AIMBN meeting, featuring then Director of the EMBO, Frank Gannon.

This collection covers the activities of the Courses and Workshops department at EMBO from 1966-2024.

The ”Course Committee” series is mostly comprised of agendas, minutes, and correspondence and runs from 1966-2024. Paper records for the years up to 2010 are stored in the archive and subsequent years are stored as digital files.

These materials run from 1972-2014, although references to events outside of this timeframe may be found in the Course Committee files.

This collection comprises materials relating to EMBO at Basel Life, the 2 conferences held in Basel, Switzerland in 2017 and 2018. It contains reports, abstract books, programmes, administrative and organisational documents related to the running of the conference.

This collection comprises documents related to the administration of the EMBO gold medal award. It includes materials such as correspondence, scientific materials related to winners, selection committee votes, press releases, and photographs.

The Gold Medal award was established by EMBO in 1986 in order to celebrate outstanding scientists in the early stages of their careers. Recipients must be life scientists working in one of the EMBC member states under the age of 40, or within ten years of having obtained their PhD. Only EMBO Members and EMBO Young Investigators can nominate candidates for a medal. The selection committee is made up of members of EMBO council, and the director and secretary general act as observers of the EMBO Gold Medal selection committee. This collection comprises materials relating to the establishment and management of the European Molecular Biology (EMBO) Journal and the Electronic Information Programme. It contains correspondence, announcements, reports, publications, communications materials, and organisational and administrative documents. It also contains documents related to committee meetings, working group meetings, and meetings with publishers.

This collection comprises materials relating to the establishment of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) by the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO).

Materials related to the services offered by EMBO as an advisory and review body to the EMBC Member States between 1994-2005. It carried out reviews of several national research programmes. In each case, it appointed an expert panel of EMBO Members to analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the individual life sciences programmes and delivered a report to the national research councils or ministries.

This collection comprises materials relating to both internal and external communications efforts by the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO). It contains a folder of general communications materials regarding EMBO’s programme and activities, a folder of press clippings from 1968-1972 and 2001-2002, and the first 48 issues of EMBO Encounters.
