This collection comprises documents related to the administration of the EMBO gold medal award. It includes materials such as correspondence, scientific materials related to winners, selection committee votes, press releases, and photographs.

The Gold Medal award was established by EMBO in 1986 in order to celebrate outstanding scientists in the early stages of their careers. Recipients must be life scientists working in one of the EMBC member states under the age of 40, or within ten years of having obtained their PhD. Only EMBO Members and EMBO Young Investigators can nominate candidates for a medal. The selection committee is made up of members of EMBO council, and the director and secretary general act as observers of the EMBO Gold Medal selection committee. The ”Fellowship Committee” series is comprised of agendas, minutes, and correspondence regarding Fund Committee meetings from 1966-1996, and the Fellowship Committee from 1996- 2024. Paper records for the years up to 2016 are stored in the physical archive and subsequent years are stored as digital files on the EMBO3 server.

The “Fellows Meeting” series is comprised of correspondence, programs, abstract books, posters, and other materials regarding the organization, coordination, and running of Fellows Meetings from the years 1997-2024. Files from 2019-2024 are stored digitally on the EMBO3 server.

Working documents related to the Fellowship Department are stored in the Intermediate Archive for records management purposes.

This collection comprises materials related to the Membership Programme of EMBO.

The Membership Committee series contains correspondence, meeting documents, and other organisational and administrative documents concerning the management of the Membership department.

The Nominations and Results series contains documents relating to the nominations and elections of new EMBO members. It contains lists of nominations and results.

The EMBO Members Meeting series contains administrative and organisational documents concerning the annual meeting of new and current EMBO members, as well as material from the meetings such as photographs, programmes, and lists of participants.

The EMBO Membership Lists series contains annual lists of EMBO members published by the organisation.

This collection comprises materials related to the women in science program. It contains reports, correspondence, administrative and organisational documents, meeting documents, posters, DVDs, VHS tapes, posters, and photographs.

The YIP Administrative Materials series contains documents related to the YIP Working Party meetings, the agreement establishing the YIP as a special program of the EMBC, and agreements signed with participating nations.

The YIP Meetings series contains materials related to annual YIP meetings between 2001-2017. This series includes programs and abstract books, correspondence, surveys, posters, and meeting feedback.

The YIP PHD courses series contains materials related to PHD courses run by the YIP between 2002-2019. This series includes programs and abstract books, correspondence, surveys, posters, and meeting feedback.

The YIP Networking series contains materials related to the financial support the programme offers for a variety of networking opportunities between 2013-2019, namely: conference/meeting support, institute visits, joint group meetings, lab exchanges, sectoral meetings, support for local PHD courses, and for YIPs to act as Jurors at EMBO Meetings. This series includes applications, reports, financial statements, invoices, expense forms, and correspondence.

The HHMI series contains materials related to the partnership between the YIP and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute between 2002-2009. This series includes correspondence, reports, surveys, and minutes.

The Small Grants series contains materials related to Lectures funded by the YIP between 2002-2005, and 2013-2015. This series includes applications, correspondence, reports, and invoices.

The EYSF series contains materials related to the European Young Science Forum meetings organized by YIP between 2008-2016. This series includes programs, abstract reports, correspondence, posters, and reports.

The YIP Awardees series contains applications, booklets, and 3rd year reports related to YIP awardees.

The YIP SDIG series contains materials related to the Special Development Installation Grants initiative. This series includes minutes, agendas, the agreement establishing the SDIG, applications, reports, and contracts.

The YIP Selection Committee series contains agendas, minutes, correspondence, reports, program guides, committee guides, surveys, and statistics relating to the operations of the YIP.

The YIP Laboratory Management Courses series contains programs and course booklets, surveys, financial reports, and posters.
